Here are some great tips to relieve anxiety, unwanted behaviours, stimulate interaction, build comprehension by showing your child a photograph of:

  • Where they are going, i.e. a park or supermarket.
  • What play activity they are doing now and what is coming next, i.e. building blocks then morning tea.

Show a photograph to demonstrate acceptable behaviour, i.e. good walking.

Develop a routine for your child:

  • Have a visual timetable for your child's day illustrating the day's activities.
  • A calendar with the days of the week and photographs of where they are going that day.
  • A visual step by step getting ready in the morning routine and toilet training/washing hands routine.

We want to save you time by offering visual supports to get you started on developing a routine in your home, school or therapy environments straight away.
